Social Science 8-Period 2 - [email protected] Assignments

Due May 13th 
You will be researching this online not with Chapter 19 you are only using the introduction to guide you.

-Using the graphic organizer as a guide you will compare and contrast Northern, Southern, and Central California using any method you wish, powerpoint presentation or google slides( 15 slides) essay or (5-6 sentences per paragraph minimum of 4 paragraphs per section, this includes  4 paragraphs for Northern, 4 for Central, and 4 for Southern = 12 paragraphs. You also need an introduction and conclusion. ) 
Or comic strips, mural, poster, or anything creative. When Creating something other than writing an essay make sure that you have captions and explain the differences not only with photos and drawings, this is for the poster, comic strips, etc.. You must include images with 3 sentence captions for each photo. And a comparative paragraph. 
For a mural or photo collage you will need at least a separate one-page explanation. 
-The topics that you will cover in your project or essay are those located in the graphic organizer: Geography(Climate and Physical features) , Economy(agriculture, tech, labor, production, capital, resources, entrepreneurial etc..) , Society (Culture, politics etc..), Transportation.

Write a one page minimum Essay, from your perspective, of Northern and Southern advantages and disadvantages. Elaborate on your opinions, give evidence and examples from your notes on Ch. 19, 20, and 21.

Each table group will work together to create a poster project only, that will be shared with the class by the end of the week.USe TCI to complete this project and other online resources except for Wikipedia to find information. Each group will be able to choose one section to do their project on, no two groups can do the same section and they must check with the teacher to get the “okay” on their section. You MAY NOT choose the introduction or summary. This means that some groups will have to choose the Explore options, Biography sections, or Primary source options.

The project must include an introduction to the topic with at least 3 summaries (5-6 sentences per summary) of the topic they choose. It must include a minimum of 2 photos or hand-drawn pictures with a 2 sentence description for each image. 
They also must include a minimum of 2 questions to ask at the end of their presentation.

Students will create a 2 paragraph (5-6) full sentence essay. This essay will include one focused topic of contemporary (modern) influence that still exist today from Mexicano culture. Your first paragraph will include an in depth description of the focused topic when it first began in the southwest, as well as why you choose that specific topic. The second paragraph will include how that topic has changed over time and the reach of its influence (how has it changed peoples lives or influenced other cultures). You also must include a picture of your topic with a 1-2 sentence description. 


You have the option of either making a poster or google doc. 

Please write a 4 paragraph reflection, 5-6 sentences each, on the topics discussed in the trial of Andrew Jackson. Reflect on your opinions of the topics discussed, what happened, why was it criminal, how was Jackson directed or indirectly involved.

Instructions: You must write a minimum of 10 moral, just ,and ethical fundamental ideals, laws, and rights of your countries government, people, and functions. Each fundamental must be at least 3 detailed sentences. 

Complete the map work (on paper) and the questions on TCI, except for #8.

Complete questions 1-10 using only the information on the timeline to help answer the questions.  Then, complete question 14 using only information you learned in lessons 1, 2, 3 and/or 4.


Remember to study for your test.


Also, if you did not complete the Lesson 4 lesson game by today, get that done!

Use this lesson game as a means to help you study for your exam that will take place next Friday.

Email me your score out of /45 for the sections we graded in lesson 04.
