Period 3 Assignments

 

You will need to send me an email, using the following criteria:

Email subject line must begin with the words "Extra Credit"

The content of your email must include your name, your three digit number, and what BrainPop or Flocabulary item(s) you would like for me to assign to you.  

As soon as I assign you the requested material, I will email you back to let you know that you're ready to go.  Remember, the topics you choose from (at either site) must be on material we have studied this year...or will study by the end of the year.  Look at the TCI/History Alive table of contents for guidance.

 

 

We will finish grading Ch. 20 on Friday.  Ch. 21 vocabulary is due on Tuesday. 

Periods 3 and 5 will be visiting DBHS, Period 1 have numerous students out with Orchestra.

Complete Chapter 20 Vocabulary

Read Chapter 20....section which matches your table group (group 1-10)

Complete 19.5 and 19.6 (Question 1 only.  No illustration needed.)

Read 19.7

19.3 and 19.4, question 1 for each (no illustrations needed).

Remember to complete your Ch. 14 Lesson Game as you prepare for the Ch. 14 exam.  

19.1 and 19.2  Question 1 in each.  No need to illustrate.  You can either read the sections (recommended) or you can refer to the Google Slides I provided in Google Classroom on chapter 19 to help you.  

 

Ch. 14 Lesson Game is now due on Friday, which is when you will have your chapter 14 exam.

Chapter 12 Vocab.

As you define "neutrality" do not use images for Net Neutrality.  Look at "Monroe Neutrality" to get some images that are more relevant to our definition.

No new homework, but if you did not complete the vocabulary or 11.1, question 1 and 11.2, question 2 by today, you need to have it done by tomorrow.

In reviewing for your Chapter 9/10 exam....

Read the chapter 9 summary (but you do not have to answer any of the questions at the bottom)

Review your chapter 9 vocabulary that you completed

Know your amendments.Know how an amendment can be proposed/ratified.

Know the checks and balances.

Know the job (powers) of each branch.

You will be given approximately 45 minutes of class time to finish your diorama/poster project. 

Projects will be due before you leave class.

 

The balance of the time will be spent on grading what has yet to be graded in chapter 9 and moving onward in chapter 9 so as to be prepared for an exam next week.

IF YOU DID NOT TAKE THE TEST TODAY (because you were at camp), please come to my room at lunch on Monday to make-up this nine question exam.

 

All students should have the following done by Tuesday:

Lesson 10, Section 2, questions 1, 3, and 5

Lesson 10, Section 4, questions 1 and 2.

 

We will be grading both the next time you're in class as well as Lesson 9, section 1 if your class has not yet graded it.

 

 

1) Review the Bill of Rights.  Know what each of the 10 amendments state.

 

2) If your class has not yet graded 9.1, you will the next time we are together.  Are you ready with your quality answers?

 

3) If you have been at camp, do not panic about the upcoming benchmark exam.  I will work with you on this.  For those who did not attend camp, you will be looking at the Shanti and Hannah story as part of your benchmark when I see you next.

 

4) Do you need to complete some part of 10.2 that you didn't have done for today??

Have sections 8.1 through 8.8 completed by the next time you arrive for class.

We will be grading Lessons 7.1 and 7.2 tomorrow as well as collecting any outstanding scores for all of Lesson 6.  If you are missing any of these, please keep in mind that they were assigned LONG ago and there is no reason to not have them done at this point.  

 

If you have those items completed and you have nothing else to do for my class, consider completing the Holiday Extra Credit Letter or practice reciting the Preamble.

Tonight, your only new homework is to complete any section of Lesson 5 that you have not yet completed.  This is not a new assignment; anything you have not yet completed was already due on a previous date.

 

Bring back your double-sided note sheet about the various Acts/Duties.

 

Remember, there will be a test next Monday/Tuesday on Lesson 5.

As I was not in class today, I do not know where you left off with Mrs. Feyrer.  So, complete whatever it is you at least started in class.  

That should include Lesson 5, section 3....possibly section 4....maybe section 5.  If you started it as a class, finish it on your own for homework, by Wednesday.

PERIODS 4 & 6:  If you earned a score less than 70% on your chapter 2 and chapter 3 exam, you have until Friday to return a signed exam.

Read the introduction and section 1 of Lesson 4.  (If you are reading it from the textbook, it will be the introduction and 4.2)

Remember, tomorrow (9/27) is the last day to bring in the canned foods for the 9/11 service project if you intend on participating.

 

Your chapter 4 vocabulary is due when I see you next in class.  I will be uploading it to Google Classroom, too, in the event that you misplace your copy and need another.

Study for the chapter 2/chapter 3 exam (use the notes I have posted in Google Classroom for review).  Review the vocabulary terms from Chapter 3, as well.

 

Be sure to finish your notes on each of the colonies.  Remember, you only need icons for the colony you were assigned.

Your spoke of the colony "wheel" AND one other spoke must be completed by the time you are next in class.  This might mean you talk with a classmate outside of class time to get their answer about your shared colony.

Read Chapter 1, Section 1 and answer the questions on TCI EXCEPT for the illustration.  You do not need to draw.

If you need to make any revisions on the remaining states and/or correct your cities, please do so by Wednesday.  We will finish grading the map then.  Also, be sure to study for your exam which will take place on Thursday.

We will be finishing the correcting of our maps on Wednesday.  You are permitted to revise any answers on the states we have not yet corrected and/or correct any errors you have on the cities.  

 

Remember, your exam will be on Thursday or Friday of this week.  State names and locations only.

Political Map of the United States - Attached is a copy of the instructions and a blank map.  You may print another map if you need to.

Map is due on the first day I see you next week.

Your map exam will either be on Thursday or Friday, depending upon when I have you in class.
