Hello Students, I will be hosting a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, 3/25/20, to conduct office hours. If you are interested in attending, it will be held from 11AM - Noon. I will send out an email with a sign-in code to your school email address between now and then. In the meanwhile, please take a look at the attached pdf for some ground rules prior to our meeting.    

Three things due on Thursday: 1) Questions from Setting the Stage 2) Lesson 11, Section 01, Question 2 3) You will need to complete your assigned section (Hamilton OR Jefferson) from Lesson 11.

Please be sure to complete your Lesson 11 vocabulary by the next time you're in class.  I have attached a copy here if you need another.  If you were absent on Thursday/Friday, you will need to make an appointment with me to make up your missed exam.  In the meanwhile, stay on top of your homework by downloading and completing the vocabulary for Lesson 11

Study for Ch. 9 and 10 exam Turn in Slide Guide with the test (slide guide will get a grade).  ' ' Be sure to complete the portions of the slide guide about the Preamble and on the backside where it said "Amendment Process" See attached document to get the notes needed for completion. 

Pace yourself. Read the question and answer choices thoroughly before selecting the one and only correct answer. Each question is required to be answered.

With the exception of the Preamble and the (duplicate) Amendment Process on the back side, your SLIDE GUIDE should be complete.  Be sure to bring it on Thursday.   In preparation for your exam later this week, you might consider doing the Lesson Game for Chapters 9 and 10.  I will not be recording the scores on those, but it might behoove you to use them for review.     Final week for any late/absent work!  Must be in by Friday to receive any credit.  Dioramas? Timelines?  Old BrainPops?  Missing Reading Notes or Vocabulary?

Do not forget to complete your BrainPop quiz on the Constitution using YOUR OWN login credentials. Rewatch the video if you need to.   Due Monday - your table group will share out what your assigned amendment from the Bill of Rights is all about and tell of a famous court case in which this amendment was being challenged in court (preferably, the Supreme Court).  We will want to know what the case was about, how the judge(s) ruled, when it took place, and the title of the case (somebody vs. somebody)

1) Bring back your slide guide 2) Your slide guide should be complete for Articles 1-7 3) Read Lesson 9, Section 6 about the Amendment Process if you have not yet done so. 4) Are you someone who has not yet done Lesson 9, Section 5, Question 2??  

Complete the left/right portions of Article III - Judicial Branch Left side are the requirements; right side are the powers   Also, complete the checks and balances task in question #2 of Lesson 9, Section 5   While Open House may be over, your timeline and diorama projects are still expected to be turned in for the purpose of earning grades.

Complete your notes about the Executive Branch on your slide guide. Also, make sure that your cover has an icon.

Your diorama needs to be completed by the time you enter class.  If the only thing you have left to do is glue the two "bottom" pieces together or glue the three-dimensional component, that is okay.  Your answers to who, what, when, where, why, and possibly how should already be on your tri-fold.   Also, the timeline is due on Friday.  Please do not wait until Friday to ask me procedural questions.  It is due when you walk through the door.

Far too many students did not have their minimal timeline requirements completed by class time on Thursday.  I am not sure what happened?!! You will need to have your timeline completed by next Friday.  Yes, it is an "A" day, but you can still drop it off at any point on Friday, should you not have it done sooner.   Also, Ch. 9 vocabulary is due on Monday.  Assignment is attached here in the event that you were absent when it was issued.   Please don't start slacking on your work.  Now is the time to buckle down, especially as our work will be ramping up!  

See the Timeline Project presentation posted in your Google Classroom stream. By Wednesday, have at least one of your five points for the timeline researched.  Most likely, this will be the "When did the career/job/industry begin in the United States?"

Complete Section 9 and 10 of Lesson 8.

In preparation for our debate, please have completed all of the questions for section 4 of Lesson 8. For those traveling to PALI on Monday through Wednesday, have an enjoyable, safe, and educational trip!

Finish Setting the Stage questions 1-8.  Mr. Weeks will provide the answer to #9.

Periods 4 & 6: Be sure that you have completed Lesson 8, Sections 1-3.  This was assigned before the break.   Period 6: In addition to the above, be sure to bring back your biography/mask of the Constitutional Delegate you received in class today.

Be sure to have completed section 03 questions 1 & 2 and section 04 question 1 completed.   Period 06, I will NOT be giving you a quiz on the song from Hamilton.  I am expecting you to be more attentive in class.

Lesson Game in preparation for your Lesson 5 exam

Lesson 5, Section 5: Questions 1 and 2

Complete questions 1 & 2 for the Lesson 05 Introduction. Complete questions 1 - 3 for the Lesson 05 Section 01.

Lesson 05 Vocabulary due.   Did you complete the Kahoot-Style Question assignment?   Remember, the quarter ends on Friday.  Any late/absent work must be in by then in order to receive credit.

You will need to create two Kahoot-Style questions based upon your assigned section of Lesson 04. The question must be multiple choice, have ONE correct answer, and three incorrect but "possible" answers. BE SURE TO NOTE which answer is correct.

No new assignment.  We will finish correcting Lesson 04 on Friday.

No new homework.  Be sure that you have completed Lesson 04: Sections 1-8 by Wednesday.

Quiz on Lesson 03

Lesson 04: Sections 1, 2, and 3:  Questions 2 & 3 for each section.  Do not have to do questions 1 & 4 for those sections.   Vocabulary for Lesson 04 is due on Tuesday.   Remember, you will have a quiz on Lesson 03 on Tuesday.
