Close Read Instructions:

1st Read through the entire packet

 a.  Highlight what you think is important (don't highlight randomly, think about it).

 b.  Circle words you don't know (any words you aren't familiar with or can't give a definition for).

2nd Read through the entire packet

 a.  Underline what is really important (it may be exactly what you highlighted or more or less).

 b.  Answer all questions completely.

 

Extra Credit:

 a.  On a separate paper that you staple to the packet:  rewrite the "before you read" questions and answer them completely.

 b.  On that separate paper give definitions for 2 or more of the words you circled in the reading packet.
