Welcome to Mrs. Ebel's webpage!
For this 2023-2024 school year, I am the 8th-grade counselor. I am proud to say that I have worked in the Walnut Valley Unified School District since 1999. This is my 9th year at Chaparral Middle School, and my 29th year in education. Throughout my career, I have served as a teacher, Elementary Learning Specialist (ELS), Title I Coordinator, Intervention Teacher, Elementary School Counselor, and currently an SSRA at Chaparral Middle School.
I am incredibly excited to work with you and your 8th grader this school year. The 8th-grade year is such an exciting year in middle school. My role is to provide student support in the following domains: academic, personal/social, and career development.
Google Classroom:
I have an 8th-grade Counseling Google Classroom that I would highly encourage every 8th-grader to enroll. If you are not connected to this Google Classroom, please email me. I will provide you with the classroom code. It is an excellent way for me to communicate and send out information to all students. I will continue to update this google classroom throughout our school year with valuable information.

Schedule Change Request Form:
Please use this 8th-grade link: 8th-grade link, if you would like to request a schedule change. Guidelines for schedule changes are as follows: Request for schedule changes cannot be made for teacher preference or to be in the same class with a friend. Class changes, if possible, will only be made within the first two weeks of the fall semester based on available space or placed on a waiting list. For electives, we CANNOT guarantee a student will get their 1st choice. The last day for schedule changes will be Friday, 8/18/23.
