7th Grade Guitar-Fall Semester-Per. 3 Assignments

Complete by December 3rd in class. 

This must be completed by Wednesday, December 1st or I will pick your performance date for you.

Complete the google form by the end of the day on Wednesday, November 17th.

Have a printed copy of the TABs/Chords of your song, marked with who is playing when ready to hand in during class tomorrow.

The title of the song and sheet music/TABs must be submitted on Google Classroom in the form of a photo or google document by November 9th at the end of class to receive full points.
-Students are responsible for finding copies of the sheet music/TABs on their own.
-You may not use a song from Cmilearn.org.
-The song must include TABs. If you choose a song with chords only then you MUST sing the lyrics of the song. Lyrics must also be submitted for approval if you choose to play chords.
-For each day the group has not been submitted sheet music points will be lost.



Attach the TABs, Sheet Music,  or Chords & Lyrics and song title of the song you are performing to this google classroom assignment and turn it in. 


Once you have chosen a a song and submitted you MAY NOT change your song.

Group may consist of 1, 2, or 3 people total.  Participants must be members of the guitar or choir program.  Group members  must be chosen and submitted through google classroom in a google form by the end of class on November 8th in order to receive full points.  For each day the group has not been submitted points will be lost. If you do not choose by November 10th I will pick your group for you.  You may NOT change groups after you turn in your google form.

You have a full week to complete this assignment.  All Memes need to be created and uploaded to this assignment on google classroom by the start of class next Wednesday, November 3rd to be included in the competition.  You must submit at least 1 meme to get credit for participation.  I will not accept more than 5 per individual.

If you are in a duet group you will be performing First Time Around from Lesson 7.  If you are in a trio group you will be performing Spanish Trio from Lesson 7.  These performances will be during class on Monday, September 20th.

Complete this form during class one time for each group that performs.  You do not need to complete it for your group. 

In this assignment you will be asked to write down a physical list every time you "fail" at the challenge and are exposed to music.  The challenge is to try to cut music entirely out of your life for a 24 hour straight duration.  Here are a few things to avoid for example although there are many more.


1. TV/Video games (music plays in the background-must be muted)
2. Tik tok/Instagram videos (mute)
3. Radio in car or in house
4. Department/Grocery Stores
5. Elevators
6. Cell Phones (ringtones)
7. Singing and humming
8. Other people singing/humming/playing instruments
9. Percussion instruments/rhythmic instruments


For homework you need to try your best to avoid all forms of music.  If you are unable to avoid music for these 24 hours then each time you make a "mistake" you need to write down the following things.
1. The time
2. What happened? (Be specific and detailed)


We will answer reflection questions in class when we have completed the challenge.

2.  You will record this DURING class on your Ipad and attach/upload the video to google classroom to complete this assignment.  Do not record it early.  We will record in class on Wednesday, September 15th.

During class on 9/7 choose a song from littlekidsrock.org that you would like to play.  It must include at least 3 different chords.  They can be chords we have already learned in class.  Fill out the attached google form with the song title and copied link of the song you will be playing.

We will be performing this song in class on Wednesday.  You may perform it as a solo, duo, or trio.

In class on Thursday I will ask you to play Exercise 3, strumming each chord 4 times.  Try your best to keep a steady beat, strum the correct strings, and have your fingers in the correct position for each chord.  The exercise can be found on slide 7 of week 3 warm ups slideshow.

Write a piece of music following the directions listed below.


1.  Write a title in the top middle of the composition. 
2.  Divide the music staff into 8 equal measures using barlines.
3.  Write a treble clef at the beginning.
4.  Write a time signature after the treble clef.
5.  Add the correct number of strum bars per measure based on your time signature.
6.  Add 1 chord per measure.  (Use chords you know how to play.)

7.  Make sure your name is on the top before you turn it in.
