Please plan on attending this year's Open House at Chaparral. Open House will take place on Thursday, February 21st at 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Information for Incoming 6th Graders will be provided at a Presentation in the Gym at 6 PM. Food trucks will be here serving by 5:30 PM. Please plan on stopping by to share the evening with us.
We will also shuttle buses to and from Maple Hill and Quail Summit this year, from 5:30 to 8:30 so that additional parking is available.
Support the Chaparral Library by purchasing your Cougar's next set of reading books at the Book Fair...coming in February.
We are proud to acknowledge the attached list of honor roll students for Fall semester, 2018. These students have worked hard to achieve academic success, signified by their accumulation of a 3.5 grade point average or above this past fall. Good job, scholars!

Coming soon, Chaparral Middle School's production of Into the Woods, Junior in our Multi-Purpose Room. The students have been working hard learning choreography, rehearsing songs, blocking the scenes, as well as diligently preparing the sets. The show days and times are as follows: Thursday, March 7 at 7 pm, Friday, March 8 at 7 pm, and Saturday, March 9 at 5:00 pm. Tickets will cost $5.00 for anyone 8th grade and younger and $8.00 for anyone 9th grade and older. Look for pre-sale tickets available at the end of February.
Several Chaparral students were selected for All-Southern Music Ensembles during auditions that were held in December. Students competed against their peers from across Southern California for a spot in Honor Band or Orchestra. Sponsored by the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, the ensembles offer a challenging musical experience to the top music students in school music programs. Students will rehearse for two weekends in January and perform during the annual SCSBOA conference on January 26. Eric Choi will be playing cello in the Elementary Orchestra. Middle School Honor Orchestra Students include: Kelly Choi, flute, Ian Kim, clarinet, Isaac Licari, oboe, Joey Lin, French Horn, and Chloe Hartanto, Percussion. Symphonic Band students include: Dora Huang, bass clarinet, Jenna Kim, Flute, Leelyn Shih, Euphonium, Ute Wong, Percussion and Lucy Wu, Euphonium.

The Chaparral Middle School Site Council will have its next meeting on Thursday, March 21st at 2:15 PM in the Main Office Conference Room.
If your child is planning on coming to Chaparral for the 6th Grade next year, please plan on attending.
