Go to getepic.com and click on the mailbox and you will see the collection on Christmas Around the World. Read the books and write a summary (at least 5 sentences). Include in your summary some of your Christmas or holiday traditions.

Include in your summary why we celebrate Veteran’s Day and if you know anyone that is a veteran. Turn in before the end of class. Once you finish please go on Language Live and do Word Training.

After we have finished editing the paragraph, please rewrite the paragraph on the Google doc and then submit. Remember to rewrite the paragraph with the corrections.

Write a story about an invisible friend. Remember to check your grammar, spelling and punctuation. Your story needs to be at least 8 sentences. Turn in before the end of class. Once you finish please go on Language Live and do Word Training.

On a Google Doc, write your contrasting paragraph. Begin with your topic sentence, use your notes to develop the body of your paragraph, and end with your concluding sentence. Use what is written on page 94 of your workbook. Pages 87-88 and 91-93 will also help you find the key information needed for the body of your paragraph. Your paragraph needs to be at least 6-8 sentences long. We will work on refining your paragraph using the Writer's Checklist.

Go onto getepic.com and look up books on 5 different bugs or insects. On the attached Google doc, make a list of 10 interesting facts and then write a summary (at least 5 sentences) about what you learned. Turn in before the end of class. Once you finish please go on Language Live and do Word Training.

Change each metaphor to a simile by using 'like' or 'as'. Follow the example given.

Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings and different spellings. Choose the correct homophone to complete the sentences.

Read pages 60-61 in your workbook. Compare and contrast dust mites and eyelash mites. Complete the Venn Diagram, then use the diagram to compare and contrast the two types of bugs. Write you answer in complete sentences.
