Practice Timesheets

Students are expected to practice so that they can learn to play their instrument. Practice does make perfect, but it is also important to establish regular and consistent practice habits. Try to make it fun! It is gratifying to be able to see yourself get better and play more challenging music! And, your band depends on you to do your part. Also, 10% of your grade is based on the amount of time you practice. Your goal each month is 10 hours, which is only about 2.5 hours a week. This should be fairly easy to accomplish, and many students practice 20-30 hours a month throughout the year! !!As you are practicing, keep a list of the hours and days each month. At the end of the month, you will fill out the month summary on google classroom or on this page. When you are ready to fill it out, make sure your parent is available to fill out their section.

Parents, starting this year, there will also be a short parent section that must be filled out. The student and parent section should be filled out together and turned in only once. The summary report is due on the first Friday of the new month for the previous month. This change has been made this year, so that parents can supervise their child's practice, encourage if needed, and also give me feedback and voice concerns. There is a short student reflection to help students be more intentional in their practice and identify  goals, and be honest! It also encourages students to communicate with parents, rather than just filling out a piece of paper that their parent may never see.

Practice timesheets summary for each month need to be filled out on google classroom in your band period. Once submitted, they will go into your class folder and they will be graded.
